# Live ping

Source: https://urbanx.co.za/network/live-ping

Live latency measurements from UrbanX probes to popular game servers, so you can see which server region gives the lowest ping before you queue.

Probes run from three South African locations: **Durban (DBN)**, **Cape Town (CPT)** and **Johannesburg (JHB)**. Each sensor reports the current round-trip time to a monitored game or service endpoint.

## Reading the numbers

- **Ping (latency)** — round-trip time in milliseconds. Under ~30 ms to a local server is good; 150 ms+ usually means the server is international.
- The figures are measured *from the UrbanX network*, not from your house. Your own ping adds the last-mile segment — Wi-Fi, router and the FNO access line — on top of what is shown here.

If your measured ping is far worse than the figure shown for your nearest probe, the gap is in the last mile. Test wired rather than over Wi-Fi, then use the looking glass and the diagnostics tooling to narrow it down.
